This year our Lodge will be presenting "The Student Dictionary" to 9 Bristol Township Schools plus 4 Bristol area Catholic Schools for a total of 768 purchased dictionaries. Cost: $1,142.20.
The Elks National Foundation Grant applied for this year - to be received is: $300. Balanced raised from Burger nights, 50/50 and last year's Wine Lover's Baskets $842.40 - GREAT JOB BRISTOL ELKS LODGE #970!!!! The Dictionary Project for next year realized a profit of #400.00.
Wine Lovers Baskets
The Dictionary Project fundraiser was a success this year, thanks to all of our Members and guests at our annual Lodge picnic. Five lucky winners went home with baskets full of goodies (Each basket was worth approx. $40+).
Thanks to Earl Kilgore, Kristie Gaynor, Fiona & Dave McKiernan, Linda Bourget-Fenimore, John Swangler, Barry Janda, Denise Piccolo, Amanda Voroscak and Maarge Gizzi for their generous donations, artistic abilities in decorating the five baskets and selling tickets. HUGE thank you to ALL who bought tickets. The Dictionary Project for next year realized a profit of $400.00.
Dictionary Presentation Schedule
Officers and Members please mark your calendars to help make presentations of Dictionaries at the local Bristol Township Schools in September. The Dictionary Committee has added 4 Catholic Schools this year and as you will see from the schedule below, several schools have open houses on the same day. We will have a fact sheet and directions to the shcools. A meeting will be arranged at the Lodge before presentations in September to orient you. As of this writing, three schools are not on the schedule.

2007 Final Report
Bristol Elks can be proud again this year. We not only gave dictionaries to the Bristol Township third grade students, but we added four (4) parochial schools in the Bristol area. Our totals this year: 33 third grades in 9 Bristol Townshipe Schools and 4 Catholic Schools for a total of over 760 Dictionaries with a total cost of $1,142.40.
This cost was totally paid for by furger nights, 50/50 raffles, the Wine Lover's Basket Raffle, the $300.00 Elks National Foundation Grant, and tips and donations by you and guests of the Lodge. No lodge funds were used to purchase the dictionaries this year or the first year of this project. Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our Goal again this year. We are already on our way to raising funds for next year.
